Acronym for “Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition”. Chemical deposit in the vapour phase assisted by plasma. Method of coating used, for example, for depositing carbides and nitrides. This method enables working with temperatures that are significantly lower (400-500°C) than those for depositing in the chemical phase without plasma (1000°C).
