Magazine

« Back to Glossary Index

For the plasma treatment of small parts, they have to be positioned in specific supports, often composed of several levels; these supports are called magazines. They enable optimum use of the volume of the chamber and precise positioning of the treated parts. In particular when the parts must not touch each other during treatment and for very fragile parts. The use of magazines will generally be preferred to that of a rotary drum. Magazines are commonly used for treating lead frames (see this term) in the domain of microelectronics.
