Barrier layers

Barrier layers can prevent the diffusion of a gas or a liquid in or through a solid. It is possible to produce barrier layers by plasma polymerisation, using fluoropolymers or SIO2. The main applications are protection against water, oxygen and CO2 in the food industry and protection against hydrocarbons for reservoirs.
